US-based automotive manufacturing giant GM (General Motors) has announced a plan to hire 8000 tech workers.
To make the hiring more lucrative/desirable GM has offered attractive bonuses, stock options, and remote working options to the new recruits.
This comes as a pleasant reversal of its earlier policies. In 2019 GM had to retrench and shut down many factories and sites, laid off 8000 employees.
